Assignment 26A - Celebrating Failure

Over the course of this semester, one time I have failed is when I have left my scooter in a restricted parking area overnight. In the morning, I realized that my scooter was either towed or stolen. At this point, I was forced to call Superior Towing to make sure that they had my scooter before I could retrieve it. I confirmed with the worker that they did have my scooter, and they informed me that it would be a $100-dollar fee. $100-dollar fee is for the first 24 hours for both scooters and vehicles. I had my friend drive me to Superior Towing and I had my scooter released for $100. After this experience, I have learned to always park my scooter in the correct spot so that I do not have to risk my scooter getting towed again. Failure, in general, is very hard to overcome personally and mentally. Failure ruins your self-esteem and your hope for the future. This class has definitely taught me to take more risks in my life, instead of always playing on the safe side.

  1. Hi Alexandra! That really is something nerve-wracking to go through. I’m really glad you got your scooter back. I like your reflection on your failure and how the class has taught you to take more risks and not be afraid of taking them. I can say that this class has helped me do so as well, and it’s one of the best things I’ve learned.

  2. Alexandra,
I like you're story and have experienced similar issues with my truck and local towing business's picking my truck up. I have also learned like yourself from experience and learned my lesson to say the least.

  3. Alexandra,
The same thing happened to me but for my car but it was in my own apartments parking lot because i was a spot over! It definitely is a relief that your vehicle isn't stolen but it does suck you have to pay $100. I agree with you on the ideas of failure but at the same time they do help you grow and allow you to not make the same mistakes again.
