Holding off on the interest rate increase would allow more people to either a) make large purchases, such as a car, a house, a mortgage, etc., or b) it would allow people to pay off objects that require them to pay interest, such as student loans, mortgages, etc. o    The prototypical customer is someone in day-to-day life that has expenses that they need to pay off, especially while the interest rate is still low.
