Assignment 21A - Reading Reflection No. 2
1. What was the general theme
or argument of the book?
a. The general theme of Innovation and Entrepreneurship by Peter
Drucker is to explain the challenges and new opportunities that come along with
the new economic system that surrounds innovative ideas and thinking, along
with the entrepreneurial mindset that is required when making innovative
business decisions.
2. How did the book, in your
opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
a. In my opinion, the book connected
and enhanced what I am learning in ENT 3003 because it shows a true correlation
between real-world experiences and shows that you can truly make your own
start-up or innovate an idea and make something great out of it.
3. If you had to design an
exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise
involve?
a. Based on the book I read,
the exercise I would design for this class would involve creating your own
start-up idea. This is very similar to what we completed in the Workshops that
Dr. Pryor created for us.
4. What was your biggest
surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you
learn that differed most from your expectations?
a. When most people think about
innovation or entrepreneurship, they think of Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg,
Elon Musk, etc. From an outsider’s point-of-view, it seems impossible to
actually reach that milestone in your life where you can call yourself an
entrepreneur. After reading this book, it truly shows the reader that anyone
can be an innovator and/or an
entrepreneur if you set your mind to it.
