Assignment 11A - Idea Napkin No. 1

1.     You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?

a.     My name is Alexandra Dorau, but people usually call me Alex. I am a second-year Accounting student. I plan to apply for the 3/2 program at UF and hopefully receive my Master’s degree and CPA certification. I have traveled to more places outside the United States. So, whenever I get the chance, I love to travel and explore other areas. If I were to start this business, I would see it playing a huge role in my life. Being the founder and CEO of a business takes a lot of hard work and dedication, which is something I would be willing to do.

2.     What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs).

a.     I am offering car companies a way to prevent accidents and texting and driving by offering my Bluetooth service that allows you to display and use all aspects of your phone through the digital screen in your vehicle. Instead of touching the screen manually, you have the option to use a control dial or you can speak to Alexa. This service would be available to all cell phone users and it is not restricted.

3.     Who are you offering it to? Describe, in as much detail as possible, the demographic and psychographic characteristics of your customers. Think especially of this question: what do your customers all have in common?

a.     I am offering it to all customers that are willing to get this system installed in new vehicles. We would like to partner with certain car companies to make this an exclusive and elite offer. Partnering with large car companies allows our product to be reviewed and used by many individuals.

4.     Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe its valuable to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.

a.     Customers will actually pay my company money to use my product because my product will be the most compatible and user-friendly product on the market. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, companies are limited to certain devices that will be compatible. With my product, we are open to all devices and we allow the user to see and use all aspects of their cell phone without even looking at the screen. Providing this feature would allow for the decrease in car accidents and incidents with texting and driving.

5.     What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?

a.     The product that I am providing to users differs vastly from my competitors. With products like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, they display a make-shift version of their cell phone display on the screen. With my product, we will display the entire cell phone with the ability to tell Alexa what she needs to do while you are operating your vehicle. My product would also all the user to make use of all of their apps through the display.

In addition to these five elements, please spend a paragraph evaluating whether you believe these elements fit together or whether there are aspects of your business concept that are weaker / out-of-joint with the others.

-       I believe these elements fit together perfectly. My product would have a different perspective for all users of my product. We would make all aspects of their phone usable and viewable without getting distracted while driving. This would overall increase customer satisfaction across the nation, while also decreasing the amount of car accidents and incidents with texting and driving. My product would hopefully allow for less distracted driving.
